May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed. May we shout for joy over your victory and lift up our banners in the name of our God. May the Lord grant all your requests. – Psalm 20:4-5
Do we rejoice just as loudly over the blessings of others as we do for our own?
God wants to give us so many good things. As a loving father He provides our needs, but also is ready to grant whatever we ask Him in faith. Of course this should cause us to lift our thanks to Him. But we also should feel this delight when we see Him doing the same for others.
Part of loving one another is participating in each other’s victories and happiness. We truly enjoy when someone we love has an answered prayer or is blessed by God in some way. In fact, since we should be praying for each other we all share in these answered prayers. God uses this to bring us closer together and create a stronger love between us. He wants us to think of others before we are concerned with ourselves. Imagine the increase in our praises if we unselfishly rejoice for our brothers and sisters in the same way we do for ourselves. God is waiting to give you your desires, and the requests of all those you love as well. Shout for joy!
