Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved. – Acts 4:12
The name “Jesus” was given to Mary by God. She was told to name her son Jesus, because he would save his people from their sin. His name means “The Lord saves.”
As the Apostles (in our verse) were preaching, they were saying there is no other way to salvation other than the Lord saving you. The Lord is God, so how could anyone or anything else be needed. If you need God to save you and only He is able to, do you go find someone else to do it?
Other people in the Bible were named Jesus. But Jesus could say, “my name is ‘The Lord saves,’ and I am the Lord, and I am the Savior. My name means that I save you!” We love the name of Jesus not only because it is the name of our Lord, but for what the name means. The Lord saves us. That’s why there is power in the name of Jesus. And that is why there is no other name. What more do we need!
