He has saved us and called us to a holy life — not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time. – 2 Timothy 1:9
When we think about God’s presence we describe Him as omnipresent, which means He exists in every place. He created space and everything in it. He is everywhere! But did you know He is “every-when” as well?
God was doing things and thinking about things before the beginning of time. He created time and space and the whole of everything that exists. This is difficult to imagine or understand. God inhabits all of His creation and that means He exists from the beginning of time until it’s end and every moment in between all at once. This boggles our finite minds, but then that is what we should expect when we try to take in God’s power and glory. God is surrounded by mystery and is truly beyond our ability to fully understand.
The beauty is that He pushes through this mystery with His own love and grace. Before anything was even made by Him, He had a reason and a purpose for us. All of creation was formed out of grace. The plan of salvation through Jesus was already in place. We are to live a life that is holy, which means simply “set apart” and devoted to Him, and His grace has given us a way to do this.
God loved us and gave His grace before time was even created. No wonder there is nothing we can do to earn it, His purpose and love for us was already in His thoughts long before we had even been born. We can barely begin to grasp God’s awesome power, but He makes Himself known to us by His grace. God’s love is amazing!
