The way, the truth, the life. Jesus.

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. – John 14:6

We cannot find God on our own. We can see His creation and God even says His existence is plain from observing the natural world. But we do not know who He is without Him showing us in some way.

What a wonderful God He is. He loves us and wants us to know His love. He cares for us and wants us to experience that. He gathers us as His children and wants us to be a part of His family. He reveals Himself to us so that we in turn can come close to Him.

He showed us all of this through his son, Jesus. Jesus could say, “I am the life” because He had created all things, and each of us are here because He breathed into us our spirit and soul. He can say, “I am the truth” because all of His teachings about how to live and love each other are from the one who made us. You can’t get a better truth than that! He could say “I am the way” because He was showing us who God is and answering our questions about wanting to find Him.

More than that, He could say “I am the way” because He was providing that path to forgiveness. Through the death and resurrection of Jesus we are changed into God’s children, forgiven and able to know and love our Father. Faith in Him is how we get there. We can seek and ask and philosophize and follow rules and a million other things. But Jesus says, “I am the way” and all you have to do is believe. It’s so simple!
