With Jesus. Always.

With Jesus. Always.

He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with Him. – 1 Thessalonians 5:10

Christ died and rose from the grave, so that we might also be resurrected.

But we also live with together with Him before we die. We are with Him before we die, and we are with Him after we die. That makes death seem insignificant, and indeed it is. Death was something that sin had brought into the world. But when Jesus took our sins it lost it’s power over us, and Jesus proved it by rising from the dead. Death is nothing now, because our sins have been paid for and forgiven.

Death is but a momentary nod to the fact we still live in a physical world. As soon as it happens, we are present with the Lord in heaven. There is a miraculous resurrection of our bodies in the same way Jesus was resurrected. He could sit by the sea, eat fish, walk with people, touch and be touched, talk and build a fire. He could also appear in a locked room and ascend to heaven. Somehow we will be changed in the same way, and live forever. This is the promise (and proof) of what Jesus accomplished through His death. Here, or there; alive, or in death — we are always with the Lord.
