‘If you can’? said Jesus. Everything is possible for one who believes. – Mark 9:23
Have you ever really thought about how silly it is to place limits on God? Think about that for a minute.
He created plants and animals, but He cannot meet our needs? He brought light into existence, but He cannot lead us? He formed us with His thought and power, but He cannot heal us? He died for us and rose from the dead, but He cannot save us? There are no limits to what God can do.
We can meditate on His unlimited power and creative artistry not only as a beautiful way to worship Him, but also to develop our sense of what is possible. What we can dream up, multiply that by 100. Whatever we can envision, magnify that by 1000. Reflecting on God’s greatness is a wonderful way to increase our faith. We have confidence because the One we trust can never fail.
We know God is all-powerful and that means He can, indeed, do all things. More than that, His love is what gives us the greatest assurance. We don’t blindly hope in a distant Creator, we look to a caring Father and trust in His kindness and love. All things are possible, but His love is what makes that personal. “I love you as my own child,” God says, “and together, everything is possible.”
