For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power, love, and self-control. – 2 Timothy 1:7
What are you afraid of?
What are the things that scare us? It might be a person we don’t want to see, a situation we dread happening, or even a memory that haunts us. But God never wants us to run and hide. He shelters us and we are never afraid because He is looking after us.
Not being timid means we always are willing to stand up to do what is right, or stand up against what is wrong.
Not being timid means we own up to our failures, and boldly show God’s love and forgiveness by confessing them.
Not being timid means we love like crazy even when we don’t feel like it.
Not being timid means we can wake up and shout to the new day “my faith is in the God of all creation and He loves me.”
Not being timid means we ask God for every opportunity to serve Him, and then eagerly and fearlessly pursue each one.
Not being timid means we know God is all-powerful and yet loves us completely. We jump recklessly into His love, headlong into His power, and leave fear behind. It means we believe the Holy Spirit is with us and inside us, and through Him we can face anything.
