I will work it out

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. – Romans 8:28

Why do we have such a hard time letting God lead us and guide us?

Even though He has promised He will work all things for our good, we still stubbornly cling to wanting to make it all work ourselves. It is hard to let go of our pride and self-sufficiency.

But perhaps it is as simple as love.

Are you wondering what is God’s will for your life? It is to love Him. Are you thinking about how you should respond to a certain situation? You should act in a way that shows love. Have you done wrong and feel shame or guilt? Then come back in His forgiveness and love. When you really don’t know what to do—then love.

Loving God is what we are called to do, because when we love Him we are simply returning the love He constantly gives to us. We are reflecting His nature and becoming more like the way we were created to be. This also leads us to loving others. It is what God has called us to do.

God wants good things for us. He has wonderful plans and purposes for us because of His love. He will work it out!

  1. Yes. But how do I love my Father in Heaven? How do I love my Lord and Saviour Jesus? I have sinned, I repented and confessed and returned to Him.

    1. 1 John 4:19 says “We love because he first loved us.” Our Father has forgiven you, as you have come to Him and confessed. Your sins have been forgiven, now and forever. He is always willing to take us back. This is amazing and unconditional love on His part.

As you think about that kind of love, it will move your heart to begin to return that love. Jesus knows that we struggle, yet He can see our sincere heart. It may simply begin by you telling Him you love Him for what He has done for you, and desire to love Him more.
