But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the farthest parts of the earth. – Acts 1:8
What is a witness? It is someone who has seen or heard something and is willing to tell about what they know.
In the case of being a witness for Jesus, it is not only about “telling”. We demonstrate Him in all we do, not just with words but also with actions. We take the message of His love and who He is to everyone, sometimes by speaking but most often by showing. The way we live proclaims Jesus.
God knows how difficult this is and provides a means of encouragement and strength—we receive power through the Holy Spirit. In the most amazing ways, the Holy Spirit works within our lives and also becomes part of our testimony. Each day we gain new experiences that speak of God’s grace and love, so each day we have more things we can talk about!
God fills us with what He has done, and what He continues to do. Although our focal point is always the life, death and resurrection of Jesus, every day we encounter new episodes of Him in our life.
When you are deeply in love with someone, you are always excited to share what they mean to you and the things you have done together. This is our daily adventure with Jesus, the one who cares for us more than we can ever imagine. We experience His great love, we love Him in return, and we keep showing and telling others!
