Jesus replied: Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. – Matthew 22:37
Love the Lord with all your heart: Love Him with all of you.
Love the Lord with all your soul: Love Him with all of you.
Love the Lord with all your mind: Love Him with all of you.
All of these are interconnected and make up who we are. We could examine each word, but the point is that we are to love the Lord with all of us. We can’t use 40% of our heart, or love Him 10 hours a day with our soul. We are in a relationship with the Lord, and that means all of us, all the time.
We can be forgetful, we can make bad choices, we can even ignore Him at times. But we are His children, He loves us, and we can remind ourselves continually that we DO love Him. We just might not be very good at it. Yet. But He made us new, all of who we are, and this new person is learning to love. We still struggle with old ways of thinking or doing things, but in front of us is knowing our heart, soul and mind has been changed! The Lord has all of us and we take joy in His love. We CAN love. We can love the Lord. Love the Lord!
