Saved!

For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. – John 3:17

What is the first thing you think of when you hear an accident or disaster has happened near a friend or loved one?

We want to find out if they are safe.

God wants to keep us safe in ways we may not even imagine. Here is the situation: God loves us, and He wants us to enjoy that love. But we have chosen to ignore it. We are blinded by our own wrongs and value our own pleasure more than His love, so we step far away from Him. We are living in a disaster!

It would be easy for God to say “just forget it, I’ve had it with them.” Instead, He showed us He cared in the deepest and most profound way possible by sending His own son Jesus. We are forgiven through His death and resurrection. We are brought back to our Father. This is what “saved” means.

We were in a precarious situation. We were telling the Creator of all things that we didn’t need Him, and didn’t care if He loved us. Think for a moment what a disaster that would lead to, and it was exactly where we were headed. But God has a provided a way out, a way for us to be kept safe and brought to a place where we always will be cared for.

He doesn’t judge us, or leave us, or condemn us. He doesn’t let us continue into catastrophe. He loves us. He saves us!
