Love everyone you see

We love because He first loved us. If anyone says, “I love God,” but hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen. God really IS love

God is love. We encounter this saying all the time. It is a sermon title, a t-shirt slogan and a catch phrase. We often use it in a trivial way or even as an excuse. But let’s not let it lose meaning in our familiarity.

God is love. It is who He is and He wants us to share in that. He created us to love and be loved. But sin has contaminated us, and the devil is determined to sweep our love away.

He hears me

And this is the confidence that we have before Him: If we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we already possess what we have asked of Him. – 1 John 5:14-15
What does it mean to ask God “according to His will”? These words can become an excuse for us to pray with hesitancy. We may feel like we need to determine God’s will before we ask anything, or we lack faith so we give ourselves an out.
