Wondrous Things

Then Joshua told the people, Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you. – Joshua 3:5

God is going to do wondrous and amazing things. Are you ready?

Every day God performs miracles. He provides, He heals, He works outside of what we think of as “normal.” His hand protects us, His Spirit guides us, and His love touches us. We talk to Him, and He answers. He forgives and renews our hearts, and walks next to us as a loving Father. Are we ready? Or do we even notice at all?

If I have a friend that is far away they may be able to tell me about that they are doing, but I will not really experience it. However, if I am with them all the time then I will be a part of everything they do. The closer we are to God, the more we will see what He is doing. Although the amazing things He does are not dependent on us—He works and moves however He sees fit—He wants us to experience all these good things with Him. He loves us!

Consecrate means to set apart, devote and dedicate. Are we dedicated to God? Do we devote ourselves to Him? Are we set apart from everything else? In other words, is God way more important than anything in our life? The closer we are to Him, the more we will share in all His wondrous things.
