Whatever you are doing, work at it with enthusiasm, as to the Lord and not for people, because you know that you will receive your inheritance from the Lord as the reward. Serve the Lord Christ. – Colossians 3:23-24
In everything we do we are to bring glory to God. We are to love God, and love others. Perhaps we have an easier time of this in church then we do at work, or in any of our daily tasks.
God wants us to realize that each moment of our lives should be lived serving Him. This is not some cruel bondage, but the service of gratitude that comes in response to His love. When you love someone you look for ways to please them, you take joy in giving them joy. You are attentive to what they want, and you do it with all your heart. This should be our attitude toward the Lord. Each day, no matter what it is, we should be looking for ways to show our love for Him. This transforms our work, things that might seem tiresome or difficult labor, into working for the Him. Our heart should be in it, to the point of being enthusiastic. We are serving the Lord, and there is a great reward in front of us—our inheritance as children of God! Can we even begin to comprehend how amazing that is?
